“The King is dead! Long live the King!” (see Wikipedia on this phrase)

This blog is dead. Long live the Blog!

This older iteration will stand as a reference or landmark of a time gone by – OK – that is a bit pretentious. But how often does one have an opportunity to be pretentious?  For continued reading, please visit the new blog.

Important Note: if you’ve been getting the RSS feed from this blog, you’ll have to subscribe anew on the new one. This doesn’t require any hard work, but you have to make the conscious choice again.

Kind regards,

One of my favorite bloggists, Seth Godin, opined about Direct and Useful Project Feedback – “how you work as a client for a project that needs to make something.”

There’s some great information there, and I suggest you read it.

But I have some additional thoughts about this, coming from my own, perhaps more modest experience. Read the rest of this entry »

Good Morning from Sequim, WA

In the 1960s a hit song came out called, The Lion Sleeps Tonight. With this entry, the lion is waking up. Curious? Tally-ho, and read on!

This blog provides my audience with ideas to think about, methods to try out, and products and services to consider.

I try to do this in a friendly way, but make no mistake,   Read the rest of this entry »

This report has to be fast off the presses.

You have a rare opportunity to see a unique marketing process in action, whether you want to be a part of the action or just watch the process for the education/entertainment value.

The record of this event will remain intact for months – maybe even years after the event, but if you want to see the event live, you have to check it out before midnight tonight (update: before Monday at midnight).

Again, you will NOT have to spend a dime to see what’s going on. But if you want in on the action, it’ll currently cost you close to $4,000 (as of this writing).

The action is happening at the Warrior WSO Forum. (WSO = Warriors Special Offers) See it at:

“Only life matters.”
The Fifth Element (a fun romp through the galaxy)

Good evening…

For many of us, “life” means relationship. We may not think in those terms, but I think it is true.

I recently had a discussion with my friend Steve “pawmarks” Johnson about Twitter and other social media venues. Steve is something of a fanatic when it comes to being personally involved in the management of his twitterstream. He adamantly refuses to use any automation, insisting that it’s all about relationship building.

While I do not go the “pure route” that Steve does  Read the rest of this entry »

Networking, as in web 2.0 connecting, is powerful stuff. I am by no means an expert in this area. However, I have noticed a few things.

  1. If I don’t have a specific reason for “being on twitter,” it’s a waste of time that I could be using to actually produce something worthwhile. Antidote: Read the rest of this entry »

Is there a communication difference between blogging and microblogging?

Both comprise communication. I can “quick-blog” from this blog almost as fast as I can microblog with Twitter. And since what I blog posts to Twitter, I have an incentive to create real information that I enjoy communicating, and not just frivolous faldara. I can do it right by starting here.

Also – I can use the heading as my twitter post and have it annotated by the body-text of the blog.

Wikipedia this: heterology.

Then give it a some thought. You might generate some new ideas that you wouldn’t come to any other way.

Note (2011-01-14): I got the word wrong… (grr) – the right word is heterarchy, and you can find it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterarchy

Good evening… Low 50s and partly cloudy. I can live with that. God the Seattle area is a delight!

I haven’t yet watched/listened to it, but I will, and it’s conveniently available here.

I expect it will be every bit as wonderful as Act I. And the talent. O my!

Good afternoon – low 50s and sunny. Looking for the next round of rain, I am.

So the performance of the Youtube Symphony took place on tax day, making tax day a much more joyous event than it otherwise would have been. No. I didn’t get to watch the performance live. But the thrill of knowing that something like this can happen (and no government money! at least none that I know of). There is joy in this world. :)

Here’s the latest.

See what came before… (Note: replaces this window.)

Enjoy the gift that music – good music – brings.
